DIY - Birthday Card

Today is my grandmother's 84th birthday! Whenever I ask her what she'd like for her birthday, I get the same response - hugs and kisses. I decided to put all my love into this beautiful card. I am OBSESSED with bunting and love how simple the card is.

{what you'll need}

The plain brown card stock I got from Dollarama. I took a pad of scrapbooking paper, chose my favourite sheets, and cut them into little triangles (1.5cm tall). The thread is white but you can use any colour. You'll also need a glue gun, scissors, and a black pen.

{make the bunting}

After you choose which triangles to use, write your message on them with a nice black pen. Cut 2 pieces of thread to 30 cm. I attached the triangles by placing a thin line of hot glue to the top and placing them on the thread.

{attach to the card}

I laid out the happy birthday message on the front of the card until it was positioned correctly. I then flipped the card over and attached the thread using hot glue.

{add a little love}

Take a piece of scrapbooking paper and write a cute message on it. Attach it to the back of the card using the hot glue gun.

{the finished product!}

Officially an Open Water Scuba Diver

I got an exciting email today. I'm officially a PADI Open Water Scuba Diver!! I started the course last year in Dominican with my sister and finally finished all the requirements on my spring break trip in February.

{Pool Training with Maggie in February 2011}

As I start to plan my trip to Europe this summer, I'm going to look for amazing places to go scuba diving! I absolutely love this activity and it's such a cool way to explore a different part of the world. Any suggestions about dive sites are welcome.

Polyvore

{Dealuxe Pair It How You'd Wear It Entry}

I've recently discovered Polyvore! It's a great place to discover new fashion trends, create your own looks, and collaborate with independent stylists. I entered a contest on the Dealuxe.ca Facebook page, the first and third picture, and then headed to the site and created my own set. My username is katie-sellers for those who've signed up. I know I will spend countless hours on this site...

Wishlist

Like my mum, I've very particular about what types of mugs I like to drink out of. My roommate brought back her 'S' mug after the holidays and I love it. The lip of the mug is small and dainty and the shape fits perfectly in my hands. At $8, the price point isn't bad either.

{Dior Paname Sunglasses}

I tried on these gorgeous Dior glasses at Holt Renfrew over the holidays and fell in love. A little tidbit about me, tortoise accessories are my weakness. My joy was short lived when I saw the $380 price tag. I'll have to ogle them from afar.

{Lucite Tray}

A lucite tray has been on my wish list forever. They can bring modern elegance to any room. I'm not sure what pattern I'd like on the bottom. I think I'll wait until I move into my next place and redecorate! In the meantime, I've been looking through Dabney Lee and Etsy stores, like FlairDesigneryLLC, to get a better idea of what I like.

Cover Up

I've had my iPhone for about 4 months now but I'm still struggling to find a case that I absolutely LOVE. My roommate pinned an awesome site, society6, and I've been spending copious amounts of time looking through their iPhone cases. I need to make a decision ASAP.

Naturally, all the cases I like are completely different and have nothing in common.
